Eligibility

Work Experience

  • 1+ year of skilled Canadian work experienceAt least 1 year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years. Must be in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupations.Source (opens in new tab)

Language

CEC applications processed through Express Entry typically take about 6 months after submission of a complete application. IRCC aims to process 80% of Express Entry applications within this service standard, though individual cases may vary based on complexity.

CEC requires a minimum of CLB 7 (Canadian Language Benchmark 7) in all four abilities for TEER 0 or 1 occupations, or CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 occupations. You must take an IRCC-approved test such as IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General, TEF Canada, or TCF Canada.
